Technical adviser of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Lodewijk De Kriuf has revealed his plans for the team ahead next year’s competition.
The Dutch tactician tells Inside Out Premier League that his targets for next season are winning the 2011/2012 league, winning the CAF Confederations Cup and as well being able to defend the FA Cup which he led the team to win a couple of months ago.
He said efforts have been made in building a formidable team that will deal with teams within and outside the shores of the country, adding that the selection of players based on merit rather than sentiments.
According to him: “The FA Cup is history now. What we should be focusing on is how to do well and get results in any major competition billed for next year. I think that the future is bright for the team, but we have to upgrade especially on our position in the league and the other competitions.
“I am trying to improve the fortunes of the team next year . We are doing everything possible to re-organise the team and have a formidable squad by bringing in some key and quality players and allow some other players go.
We have been able to scout for players, evaluating their psychological well-being and integrating them into our plan.
And we still hope to get more quality players, especially strikers that will add more value to the team. I hope to see a firm and strong team that will make Owerri people and Nigerians us proud again,” Kriuf assured .
