Vanguard Correspondent George Onah for burial

Former Corre-spondent of Vanguard Newspaper in Port Harcourt, George Onah is to be buried on Monday, December 19.

Onah died in his sleep in Port Harcourt about two weeks ago.

According to the family, the burial ceremony will begin on Friday, December 16, with a tribute and signing of condolence session at the Federated Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State between 2pm and 4pm

On Saturday, December 17, the body will be moved to Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.

On Sunday, December 18, the body will move to Okpoma via Mfom/ Ndok Junction where he will be received by officials of the NUJ and the Nigerian Legion, before the motorcade proceeds to his Onah Obo ancestral home, Oba Okpoma.

The body will lie in state at the family compound same Sunday evening just as there will be songs and all night vigil for the departed journalist.

He will be buried the following day after traditional rites/ lying in state and commendation at the grave side.
