Governor Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State has identified ethical value re-orientation as the only remedy to the problems that have bedevilled the Northern part of the country.
Al-makura who disclosed this in Lafia on Thursday, said that they were in Kaduna recently to brainstorm on the future of the region.
He said, “Considering the conference as imperative, one would acknowledge that the conference will help in reawakening the core values that are inherent to the Northern part of the country.”
The governor, who described the present situation in the North as very disturbing, urged all patriotic sons of the region to note its present state of distress with a view to finding solutions.
He therefore, enjoined the Northern leaders and stakeholders in the region to adopt the virtues of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, whose selflessness brought the North together, stressing that for the region to actualise its dreams, it must be able to re-orientate its values.
He identified corruption and insincerity on the part of leaders of the region as being responsible for the predicament, and admonished them to look inward and entrench ethical values.(NAN)
