Procter and Gamble Nigeria Limited (P&G), in partnership with ‘Sponsor a Child,’ a non-governmental organisation, has inaugurated a resource centre at Bema Homes, Lugbe, Abuja under its ‘Building Futures’programme.
The ‘Resource center (learn and play center)’ donated to the orphanage comprises a well equipped, conducive study space furnished with computers, books and learning materials for children ranging from preschool to secondary school ages.
The resource center also includes an outdoor play area for the orphanage. At the event, five other orphanages and children’s homes received whole year supplies of Pampers diapers, Ariel detergent and PUR purifier of water.
P&G’s Corporate Public Relations Manager, Olatomiwa Akande, said: “We believe that qualitative education is a critical requirement for every child. This ‘learn and play’ center is our contribution to help position these special children on the path to success in life.”
In showing appreciation, Mrs. Benedicta Jereke, the Founder of Bema Homes,said the residents of the home are very grateful to P&G and ‘Sponsor a Child’ for choosing their home to be one of the beneficiaries of the Building Futures project.
