PDP accuses Mimiko of divide-and-rule

By DAYO JOHNSON

AKURE – OPPOSITION Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State yesterday accused the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko of using some leaders of the party to destabilise it.

Pointedly, the party’s Interim Chairman Ebenezer Alabi alleged that the governor is using some PDP leaders to cause confusion and disintegration in the party using the state judiciary.

Addressing newsmen in Akure, Alabi alleged that representatives of the state government had been meeting with the said leaders of the PDP on how to file a motion before the state High Court to restrain the committee from functioning.

He said the move was hatched at a popular hotel in Ijapo area of the state capital with the sum of N50 million deployed to execute the plot.

But in a swift reaction the governor, Dr Mimiko denied the allegation describing it as spurious and blackmail.
