A 132-page book, 7 Signs of a New Beginning written by Olugbenga Oyewale-Davies was recently presented/dedicated in Lagos.
The book, the second by the author who is a pastor with the Redeem-ed Christian Church of God, revolves around the Bible character, King Saul and seeks to encourage the reader not to always forge ahead to greater opportunities by taking advantage of the enorm-ous deposits of resources in Christ.
Pastor Solomon Olu-Ajisafe, the reviewer of the book, described 7 Signs of a New Beginning as a manuscript that is well written, easy to read and useful for anyone who aspires to higher heights in life. According to him; the book plots the graph to a new dawn of life, adding that “the revelation coming from the experience of an unpopular Bible character, King Saul really adds colour to the whole dimension in the book. It is an essential tool that is needful to equip anyone who has lost hope in life, those who are ignorant of God’s promises for their lives. I therefore recommend it to all Christians.
“Every man is born for a purpose and we need to discover that purpose; this book will help any individual to know his/her purpose through the revealed signs and when you begin to see the signs you will know that chang-es are taking place in your life. Without recognising the signs and purpose, you are just like someone who cannot convert an opportunity,” he said.
Olugbenga Oyewale-Davies, a minister of the gospel and author of When the brook is dry, revealed that his latest entry is in accord with a promise he made to God that he will continually dedicate a book every year. The man of God also used the occasion to advise Christians to read and search the scriptures, adding that Christians should not rely solely on the research of their pastors.
“King Saul is not someone that is appreciated in Christendom, but thro-ugh an indept study of the Bible and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, God opened my eyes to see some good things He did in the life of Saul. I went ahead to correct the impression most Christians have about him,” he explained.
Pastor Oyewale-Davies believes that today’s Christians are lazy, “we leave the pastor to read and interpret the Bible for us. Christians don’t bother to search the scriptures to find out if what the pastor taught was biblical or not.
Most time when an opinion is made about a Bible character, either good or bad, most people cue in for that. It is good for us to get a personal revelation about the word of God.”
