THE incredible story of VANGUARD MEDIA LIMITED, publishers of the most read news-papers in the country should not be seen as a product of luck only. There is an element of luck in the VANGUARD STORY though, but what is LUCK? The English Dictionary defines the word, Luck as; ‘Success or failure due to chance.’ The success story of Vanguard is not due to chance, rather it is divine.
Only last December, the entire reading nation was shocked when the publishing outfit blazed a trail by playing host to one of the two most powerful spiritual individuals in the world, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who came to preach an end-of-year sermon titled ‘The Storm Is Over’. Some of the peo-ple invited for that programme declined the invitation because, they couldn’t imagine the Gen-eral Overseer of optopodal Red-eemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye honouring an invitation by a newspaper house. They licked their wounds after.
This year, the company has done it again as it is playing host to the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor who is expected to minister at this year’s end-of-year thanksgiving service. The theme of this year’s event is ‘There shall be showers of blessings’. Date: Friday, December 9, 2011. Time: 11.00 a.m.
of cheery news
The excitement that greeted the announcement of the cheery news by the co-ordinator of the Vanguard Media Christian Fellowship, Elder Emmanuel Obuh at the last mid week ser-vice at the corporate headquart-ers of the publishing outfit in Apapa, Lagos, was defeaning. Breaking the news, after a con-firmation of the date, Elder Obuh urged members of the Fellow-ship to fast and pray for the success of the programme, add-ing that preparations had reach-ed advanced stage.
According to him, the CAN pre-sident who had just finished his church’s annual Jubilee Word Festival in Warri, Delta State with a theme; ‘Living in the midst of your enemies’ had given his assurance to be at the company premises with all the anointing to bring down showers of bless-ings.
Asked of traffic arrangements, he said plans are under way for a hitch-free flow of traffic on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway for the guest minister and other invitees for the programme, saying “we do not evisage any problem in that direction. I sense in my spirit that God, Who has not changed one bit, is going to work out a way for us.”
He then assured that every arrangement has been perfected for a hitch-free event.
Pastor Joseph Ayodele Oritseja-for, the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, is a preacher, pastor, evangelist and author with a unique anointing of God upon his life. In 1972 he gave his life to the Lord as he was miraculously delivered during a crusade in Sapele, Delta State. Almost immediately, he felt a call of God on his life and enrolled at the New Covenant Bible College, Benin City. He is also a grad-uate of the Nigeria Baptist Seminary, Ogbomosho, Oyo State and Morris Cerullo’s School of Ministry, San Diego, California, USA.
While in Bible College, he had visions of himself preaching to countless thousands of people with great power and authority, and heard the Lord say: ‘I will give you what to say at the right time?’ Today, his anointed messages have brought salvat-ion, deliverance, revival, heal-ing and outstanding miracles to countless thousands across the world as God’s power is demon-strated with signs and wonders accompanying his ministrations.
As a keynote speaker, he has ministered in crusades with well over 2,000,000 souls in a single service. He has also ministered in various international and local conferences, and seminars in well over 73 countries of the world.
In a bid to carry out God’s divine mandate of bringing salvation message to the homes of count-less millions, Pastor Oritsejafor started a TV programme, HOUR OF DELIVERANCE in 1980 which has, over the years, grown to become a unique avenue for the actualization of the vision of taking God’s Word to the world. Presently, the programme is being aired by different TV stations in several states of Nigeria including a satellite broadcasting network, the African Broadcasting Network (ABN). Established by Pastor Oritsejafor, ABN which is a dynamic Christian satellite television on Intelsat 10, covers the whole of Africa and parts of Europe.
He is happily married and resides in Warri, Delta State with his dear wife, Helen and three children (Ayodele, Ayodeji and Ayodeta).
The story of the man recently described by Pastor Adeboye as, ‘Number One Christian in Nigeria’, is intriguing as it is inspiring.
