JTF men escape unhurt in bomb explosion

Maiduguri – Men of The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri escaped unhurt when an explosive device placed on top of a tree in London Ciki Area was remotely detonated on Thursday

An eye witness,said  that the explosion occurred close to where the JTF men were stationed.

“After the blast, which missed the JTF target by whiskers, there was sporadic shooting for several hours, creating pandemonium and making residents to run for safety,“ the eyewitness said.

The spokesman of the JTF, Lt.-Col. Hassan Mohammed, confirmed the incident but said that there was no casualty or destruction of property.

“We have taken control of the situation and commercial activities are going on as usual.

“People should feel free to go about their normal activities,“ Mohammed assured.  (NAN)
