BENIN—A group,Grassroots Network for Social and Democratic Change, has flayed a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Mr. Ken Imansuangbon, over his recent statement depicting a lack of trust and confidence in the capacity of the state leadership of PDP to conduct free and fair gubernatorial primaries.
Addressing newsmen in Benin weekend, Chairman of the group, Dr. Gabriel Osunde frowned on the manner Imansuagbon and his Director of Campaign, Mr. Clement Edo-Osagie, spoke badly of the party leadership in the state.
But in a swift reaction, Edo-Osagie described the group as unknown within the PDP, saying they migh have been paid to smear the character of Imansuangbon .
He said Edo people needed a character like Imansuangbon who could challenge Governor Oshiomhole in next year’s election.
