Fayemi presents N99bn budget for 2012

ADO-EKITI- Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has presented the sum of N98, 992,811,073.51 as 2012 appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly with infrastructure and education taken the lion’s share

Presenting the budget at the newly constructed ultra -modern House of Assembly complex in Ado- Ekiti, yesterday, Fayemi pledged to fully implement the budget estimate.

The state government had last year presented the sum of N80,779,114,550,00, though revised to N80,742,414,716.45, lamenting that the Internallly Generated Revenue, IGR, of the state government was so minimal, making the budget implementation low.

Christened ‘Budget of Delivery,’ the sum of N45.689 billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditure,while the sum of N53.3 billion was set aside for Capital expenditures

In the budget estimate, the sum of N25 billion was set aside for infrastructure, while the sum ofN19 billion was earmarked for education respectively

The overriding policy direction of the 2012 budget, according to him was to ‘’facilitate human development by building the physical and institutional architecture combined with good policies and public private partnership’’

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Omirin assured that the budget would be adequately monitored to ensure full compliance to the implementation of all the estimates therein.
