Don charges stakeholders on support for education

Umuahia – Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu, Professor Chibuzor Ogbuagu, has called on government, parents and guardians and all stakeholders to “be inclined at all times to encourage and support education for the development of the youth and for the benefit of the polity as a whole.”

Ogbuagu spoke at the 21st convocation of the university where the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. were conferred with honorary doctorates.

The duo were honoured in recognition of their meritorious services to the nation in the quest to build a politically and economically strong nation.

Senator Anyim was awarded Doctor of Law (Honoris Causa) while Okonjo-Iweala received doctorate in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Other recipients at the ceremony included Sir Francis Oji, former minister of Police Affairs, who received doctorate in Public Administration shortly after he was installed as Chancellor of the institution as well as Chief David Ogba Onuoha, a businessman, who was honoured with a doctorate in Business Administration.
