Making this known to Inside Out Premier League from the team’s camp in Uyo, Ekoh said the unavailability of funds is causing strains on the team’s plan of acquiring quality players and also pre-season preparations. “The only issue we are facing now is that of funds which is not coming as expected from the government.
We are hoping that the government will release funds early so we can prepare well enough for the start of the season,” Ekoh said.
On the team’s target for the season, the scribe said that retaining the elite status is paramount before picking a continental ticket would be thought of.
“We are battle ready for the Premier League as quality players are being sort by our coaches. We hope to get these players so we can give teams in the NPL a run for their money. Our target is to stay in the Premier League and if possible, contest for a continental slot,” Ekoh added.
