AKURE – THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State yesterday said that it was a better party than the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, as alternative to the ruling Labour Party, LP, in the state.
Speaking in Akure, the transition Committee Chairman of the party, Ebenezer Alabi, said ACN could not spring any surprise in the 2013 elections in the state, claiming the party comprised of birds of strange fellows who were forced into the party by ‘greed and inordinate ambition’ to govern the state.
He spoke against the backdrop of the decamping of the party leaders to the ACN in the state.
Leaders of PDP who lately defected to ACN include former Commissioner for Finance, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, former Finance Commissioner under the late governor Adebayo Adefarati, Mr Segun Ojo and a former member of the state Assembly, Thompson Otito Atikase.
According to Alabi, “the ACN I see, is the coming together of strange fellows because they were not together before they just heard that people are shouting ACN so let us rush to ACN. I know some people are saying PDP is not good, LP is not good, and so who are the gladiators now in ACN today? Are they not the people from the PDP and LP? This is the issue; you see that is how politicians deceive people.”
