Defending champion of the national male hockey league, Union Bank hockey team has backed its resolve to successfully defend the title with a 5-0 trouncing of Bori United of Rivers state in the ongoing national hockey tournament holding at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex Port Harcourt.
The victory brings to two by the Lagos based side after their match day one victory over Plateau state team.
The General manager, Union Bank sports, Tunde Popoola who doubles as the Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee said the team was determined to dominate the tournament as the players had been well motivated by management.
“We have been challenged to emulate our table tennis and basket ball teams have been doing. We are equal to the task,” he said.
