ABUJA – STATE Security Service, SSS, yesterday paraded three suspected militants who allegedly vandalised Agip Oil Company pipeline in Nembe, Bayelsa State, on October 1, 2011.
Beside, the suspects, who allegedly owned up to the crime, said they deliberately did it to attract attention, because their community had been neglected in term of development.
Parading the suspects in Abuja, SSS spokesperson, Marylin Ogar, told newsmen that the service received information from well-meaning Nigerians which led to the apprehension of the suspects, who were identified as Donald Joshua, (a.k.a Sinda wait), Dio Ifiemi and Ebi Howell, (a.k.a confusion).
She noted that the action of the trio caused a shortfall in gas supply and subsequent disruption in power supply nationwide.
Ogar added that the suspects had made useful confessions and would soon be charged to court.
She said: “Investigation has revealed that the pipelines were blown up with dynamites provided by Donald Joshua, who perpetrated the attack with the assistance of Dio Ifiemi.
”The attack was carried out to coerce NAOC to contract the surveillance of the pipeline to them, while Ebi Howell, a.k.a Confusion, specialises in issuing text messages when explosions occur for pecuniary gains.
