Seraphs plan affordable private varsity

By Albert Akpor

APPARENTLY worried by the seeming growing challenges faced by students of private universities in the country, especially in the area of tuition fees, the Cherubim and Seraphim unification church of Nigeria said it is making arrangements to build what it called a ‘first class affordable private university in the country.

The university which would compete favourably with those obtained in the western world in terms like academic standard and learning environment is to be named after the founder of the church, Moses Olumolade Tunolase; and would be known as Moses Olumolade university MOU.

And to to able to actualize this laudable dream, the church world wide is organizing a N5 billion fund raising ceremony in Lagos. Apart from this fund raising, members are equally tasking each one another for individual contribution with a view to ensuring that the project takes off as soon as possible with an assurance that the school will commence academic activity before the end of 2012.

In a pre-fund raising addressing in Lagos , chairman, supervisory committee of the project, Most Elder Apostle Solomon A. Alao said the church was building the tertiary institution not because other churches across the country has built their’s but because they want a university education that would compete favourably with this of the outside country, a university with a high moral and academic standard that would only attract affordable fees.

He said, “We are on the threshold of opening a first class university exclusively funded by Seraphs and their well wishers, in the name of the torchbearer of the church, late Moses Orimolade Tunolase. This meeting is therefore, preparatory to the official fund raising towards the effective take-off of our dream project, Moses Orimolade University.

As a footnote, the Cherubim and Seraphim church was established by God using the instrumentality of the progenitors of the church, Baba Aladura ST. Moses Orimolade Tunolase and Capt. Christiana Abiodun Emmanuel, both of blessed memory some 86 years ago. As an African instituted church organization, the C&S church prides itself as the first Pentecostal Christian fellowship, not only in Nigeria but in Black Africa.”

Continuing, Dr. Alao said, “The M.O.U. which will be a pride to Nigeria and bring glory to our country is at the moment, no fewer than 204, 143 hectares of land provided free of charge \by Omu-Aran community of Kwara state for the project bearing in mind that the south western part of this country has been over saturated with institutions of higher learning. We met with all the requirement for the take-off of the institution except the erection of the building which is why we are going into this funding raising ceremony.
