Keshi and Siasia
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi moved to quell speculations about a perceived uneasy relationship between him and former coach, Samson Siasia.
Keshi replaced Siasia following the latter’s failure to guide Nigeria to a place at next year’s Africa Cup of nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Siasia made a dramatic appearance during Keshi’s contract signing ceremony in Abuja but the newly appointed coach of Nigeria’s men’s football national team says he was not surprised by the gesture.
“I wasn’t surprised because me and Samson (Siasia) are like brothers. What he (Siasia) did in Abuja was genuine and no one forced him to do it. “We are very close and the talk of friction between the two of us is just an imagination of some persons in the media,” Keshi told SuperSport.com.
Keshi lost out in his initial attempt to coach the Super Eagles as the technical committee of the Nigeria football federation (NFF) selected Siasia instead but ‘the big boss’ has now declared that he never harboured any ill feelings towards the former Nantes striker.
“Siasia was in my apartment during the (2010) Fifa World Cup in South Africa. We slept together and he is like my younger brother. “I just think some of the press people are making it look like I have an issue with him but the truth is that I don’t. “The generation of Super Eagles players that represented Nigeria in the 90s, myself, (Austin) Jay Jay (Okocha), Rahidi Yekini, Austin (Eguavoen); we all get along” Keshi said.
The Nigeria trainer also took out time to reflect on the performance of the team after his first two games in charge against Zambia and Botswana.
“I am happy and I think the boys did well. They are beginning to see what I want and I think we are moving toward the right direction,” he said.
