Omuo-Ekiti ACN protests candidate’s imposition

ADO-EKITI- MEMBERS of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Omuo Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government stormed the the party secretariat in Ado- Ekiti Tuesday protesting alleged attempt to impose a candidate on them for the chairmanship position in the forth coming council polls.

The placard-carrying protesters claimed a former member of the House of Assembly (name withheld) was being imposed on the people of the area as the chairmanship candidate against the popular choice of the people.

Spokesman of the Group, Mr. Femi Jegede, who is also Secretary of Ward 8, alleged that some government officials including a commissioner had been dropping the name of the governor to achieve their selfish plot and vowed that the people would not accept any imposition.

According to him, “I am from ward 8, while ward 9 had produced chairman in the past. As I am talking to you, the Omuo Ekiti is very restive and we will not allow them to cause havoc in the local government because it will not augur well for the town and our party.”
