The Dream Team V will be seeking for one of the three automatic slots at the final phase of the continental qualifier for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Nigeria are housed in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Algeria and Senegal. Three teams will qualify automatically for the Olympics from the African championship, while the fourth team will battle it out with a team from Asia in the play-off.

Nigeria lost 0-1 to Argentina in the final of the edition in Beijing in 2008.
