LAGOS — Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, yesterday, arrested two Togolese and five others for allegedly cultivating cannabis on 80.93 hectares of farmlands in Oyo State.
The farmlands were discovered following information by members of the public at Tola Village in Akinyele Local Government Area, bordering Ijeerun village in Ido Local Government Area of the state.
The seven suspects were apprehended in tents at the cannabis plantations.
Speaking on the arrest, Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, urged members of the public not to withhold information on drug barons from the agency, noting that nobody was immune to the activities of drug cartels.
