Navy elevates 11 new Rear-Admirals, 125 others


ABUJA- The Nigerian Navy, Tuesday, announced the elevation of 126 senior officers, following the approval of the recommendations of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice- Admiral Ola-Saad Ibrahim, by the Naval Council.

Consequently, 11 senior Commodores were promoted to the rank of Rear-Admirals, 40 senior Navy-Captains were promoted Navy Commodores, 56 Navy Commanders to Navy- Captains, while 19 Lt- Commanders were promoted Naval Commanders.

The Rear-Admirals (two-star Generals) are Rear-Admiral I.A. Ajuonu, Rear-Admiral D.O. Usuofa, Rear- Admiral A.A. Yusuf, Rear- Admiral A.A. Sam-sele, Rear-Admiral A. Shettima, Rear-Admiral S.H. Usman, Rear- Admiral O.E. Ekwe, Rear- Admiral A.G. Inusa, Rear-Admiral S.U. Chinweuba, Rear-Admiral S.A. Orie and Rear-Admiral O.U. Emele.

Among those promoted Navy-Commodores are Navy Provost Marshal, Captain Emmanuel Effedua, Capt. Emma Enemo, Director, Legal Services, Capt. Kingsley Nwokenna, Director, Sports, Capt. Macpherson Owonaro, Capt. Silvanus Abbah, Capt Fred Oyedele, Capt Isa Sani Mohammed, Capt Mainasara Kaoje, Capt Victor Adedipe, and Capt Rasak Adeleye.

The officers will be decorated with their new ranks by their respective administrative authorities.
