Musa happy over Aneke’s 20-goals

Eagles’ winger Ahmed Musa disclosed that he was happy, that his 18 goals scoring record in the Nigeria Premier League has been broken.

19-year-old Musa who plays for VVV Venlo of Holland came into national limelight when he scored 18 goals from 25 appearances for Kano Pillars in the 2009/2010 season. Looking back at the local turf where he made his mark, Musa who has played 11 times for the Eagles with one goal to show, declared that he was happy for Jude Aneke who scored 20 goals in the just concluded season.

“It shows that there is progress in the local league and I’m very happy with this development. It is also pleasing that Aneke has been called to the national team, I hope that he does well so that others in the local league can follow,” said Musa.

The 22 year-old Kaduna United forward shattered Musa’s goal tally with two games left in the season. It also came to light after the conclusion of the league that Sunshine Stars of Akure’s Ibrahim Ajani also hit the 20 goal mark, however, a dispute arose as it was claimed that Ajani was erroneous credited with a goal in their game against Ocean Boys. NPL officials have resolved to watch the video of the match to verify the claim.
