As the Lagos Jazz Series (LJS) prepares to light up Lagos, Jazz music is all primed up to take centre stage. LJS have been set in motion as the organizers of the outdoor festival confirmed the presence of internationally acclaimed jazz figures, Hugh Masekela and Morrie Louden to entertain lovers of Jazz music.
And to ensure a noteworthy show, organizers of the event have gone the extra mile to enlist the services of some the best of Nigerian acts that include Cobahms Asuquo, Efya, Tiwa Savage, Bez, Keziah Jones, Sesu, Diana Bada and a host of other surprise artistes.
Bringing a Ghanaian flavour to the jazz outing is budding artiste, Efya.The rising star performed at the Alliance Français ‘Girls Speak Out’ Charity event and now with a nomination for ‘Best Female Video’ at the 4Syte Music Video Awards, Africa’s soul songstress says a timeless performance is what she promises at the 2011 Lagos Jazz Series.
“This year, LJS promises a Jazz outing that has never been experienced in Nigeria. The reason we decided to go the extra mile to blend Nigerian acts with their international counterparts is to ensure that those willing to attend the show get a taste of what jazz music is all about.” says Oti Bazunu, spokesperson for LJS.
