OWERRI- President Goodluck Jonathan has decried the spate of bomb blasts in parts of the North, especially the recent one in Damaturu, Yobe State, that claimed no fewer than 150 lives.
Jonathan said this in a message delivered on his behalf by Minister of State 1 for Foreign Affairs, Professor Viola Onwuliri, at the sixth synod of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu, at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Umuewere, Nguru, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.
The President urged Nigerians not to destroy God’s creation and passionately appealed to parents to dissuade their children from engaging in social vices such as indecent dressing, kidnapping and armed robbery as they are not in consonance with God’s teachings.
Earlier in his sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Ohaji/Egbema Diocese, Rt. Rev. Chidi Oparaojiaku, said God was interested in Nigeria, pointing out that no nation had passed through what the country was going through and still remained united.
Appealing to Nigerians to return to God, Bishop Oparaojiaku noted that the problem with the country was not policy formulation and appointments.
