Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State returned from a month-long vacation abroad last weekend declaring that he is hale and hearty, contrary to speculations.
The governor described as wicked the rumor that his liver had failed and needed a transplant or that he had been incapacitated.
“Everybody saw me on my two legs when I was going to the airport. People received messages through the Director of Protocol on my activities abroad and yet people went ahead to put on the net (internet)that I had liver problem; that my son had donated a new liver to me and it failed and that my wife might be donating her own. Well, all I can say is that may God forgive those who think I will be brought back form abroad in a coffin. By the grace of Almighty God, I am very sound.
“You are not seeing my ghost but Jonah Jang. I think we should forget about politics and think about the development of Plateau State for the good of our generation and our future generation. Jonah Jang will be through in 2015 and another governor will come and so will it continue until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”, he declared.
Jang then proceeded to commission two road projects executed at a cost of about three billion naira by the administration reaffirming his commitment to giving the state a facelift.
He said that the newly commissioned Rayfield Golf Club-Gurra-Topp-ECWA Rural Development – TCNN and Science School Kuru roads covering 22 kilometers and awarded at over N1.9 billion and the dualised 800 square meters Hill Station Hotel Road awarded at a cost of about N740 million were in line with this as they would reduce traffic congestion in the city.
