The men of the Nigerian Army are presently undergoing a five-day annual Conference in Benin city. The event will come to an end on November 25.

The Conference is one where the men of the force take force of an ending year while a projection is made for a new one.

To give a boost to this year’s Conference, a major golf Kitty held yesterday at the Benin golf Club in honor of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General A Ihejioka.

The Kitty, according to the Chairman of the Organzing Committee, and indeed the Commandant of the S&T Benin, Brigadier General ET Nienge, involved some 100 golfers, mainly personnel of the Armed Forces while the Guest of honor was Major General O Akinyemi, Army’s Chief of Policy and Planning.

“The annual conference is always a tasking one”, Nienge stated. “It’s always wise we relax with sports after cracking brains at the Conference. At this time, we chose golf to honor the Chief of Army Staff because this game is commom with officers. We have gone to a long length to put in place uncommon silverware as prizes for winners in this event”.
