FIRS appoints Keystone Bank as collecting agent

The Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS has appointed Keystone Bank Limited as an agent for tax collection and other remittances from the Nigerian public at any of the branches of the bank.

With the admittance of the bank to the FIRS tax collection scheme and the paydirect platform development, according to a statement by Keystone Bank, its customers and other members of the public can now pay their taxes and other remittances at any of the 200 branches of the bank across the country.

Mr. Oti Ikomi, Chief Executive of Keystone Bank, said the appointment has afforded the bank the opportunity to collect Stamp Duties, Pay As you Earn, Pre-Operational Levy and Nigerian Information Technology Development Fund.

He added that the bank will also now be able to collect corporate Income tax, education tax, value added tax, withholding tax and capital gains tax.

Ikomi described the development as a welcome one and hinted that the bank has already put necessary measures in place in all the bank’s branches to ensure that our customers are attended to speedily and in line with the bank’ s experiential banking culture.

He said, “For us, banking is about adding value to our customers. We are continually challenging capacity to increase customer satisfaction in a bid to create better solutions for everyone and this would continue until Keystone Bank becomes a reference point in payment of taxes and remittances.
