Eagles second choice goalkeeper, Austin Ejide has said that the Super Eagles can be better again with more friendly matches even as he urged Nigerians to forget the Nations Cup ouster.

Ejide was long forgotten until the Nigeria vs Ghana friendly in London. He was third choice keeper as subsequent Eagles coach preferred Vincent Enyeama and Dele Aiyenugba. But Ejide was back to reckoning after he put up a good display against Ghana in the London friendly in October. And now he is optimistic that the Eagles will go far if the right decision are taken by those in authorities.

“Really, we are on course to greatness, despite what happened in the past. What the team and the coach need now from Nigerians is time and patience to get it right again. I believe the team is on course.

“It would be nice if we can continue to play friendly games as this would help the players and coaches to improve,” said the Hapoel Petah Tikva Israel keeper.

He however, hailed the decision of his coach, Stephen Keshi in trying to give every players the opportunity to prove themselves in the team, assuring that if he(Keshi) continues like that and with more friendly matches, the team will return to their wing ways.
