ABAKALIKI—A member of the House of Representatives from Ebonyi State, representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chief Tobias Okwuru, Tuesday, threw his weight behind Federal Government’s proposed withdrawal of fuel subsidy by January next year.
He noted that the withdrawal was necessary, in view of the impact of the recent economic recession on the nation’s economy which had increased the rate of unemployment, collapse of the capital market and abandonment of most federal projects in the country.
Okwuru who made the call while briefing news men in Abakaliki, pointed out that the withdrawal would save the country from an imminent system collapse.
