VVV Venlo starAhmed Musa has urged Nigerians not to give-up in their support for the Super Eagles even as he believes with more friendly matches the team will be better.
Musa, who is still hunted by missing the 2012 African Cup of Nations billed for Equatorial Guinea/Gabon, promised that he will give his best for the Eagles and also put smiles on the faces of soccer loving Nigerians.
“Indeed, it is very hard to believe we will not be playing in the Nations Cup. It pained me so dearly because it has always been my biggest dream to play in the Nation’s Cup. But be that as it may, we have to forget the past and face the future,” Musa said.
Continuing, he said, “the friendly matches are very much important as any other match that we will be playing in the nearest future. It is going to be played with all seriousness and hope it will be in convincing styles. All we need is the support of Nigerians. I know the Nations Cup ouster is still fresh in their memories and they are still disappointed. We are really sorry and at the same time begging them to forget the past and support the team as we rebuild which I believe is the only way out,” Musa told Brila Fm in an interview monitored during the week.
When asked if the change in venue from Abuja made for both matches will not affect their performance, Musa said, “ I do not think the changes of the venues will affect us instead it will boost our morals to do well,” he boasted.
