Eagles vow to overrun Botswana in friendly

Benin – Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has vowed that the national team will overrun their Botswana counterparts in an international friendly scheduled for the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Saturday.

Yobo made the statement while speaking with newsmen on Friday, shortly after he arrived in Benin with 24 other team mates.

The team was led by Daniel Amokachie, one of the assistant coaches to newly unveiled coach, Stephen Keshi.

“We have adequately prepared for the game. We want to assure Nigerians that we will overrun our Botswana opponents on Saturday.

“We are very committed this time around to make Nigeria proud,’’ Yobo said.

The Eagles’ Media Officer, Collins Udoh, said that the team would have their first training session later in the day.

It was learnt that Keshi had yet to arrive in Benin after he was unveiled to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

The Botswanan team would also train much later in the day when they eventually arrive in Benin. (NAN)
