A NINE-year-old girl, Oyinkansola Fogobeen, was confirmed dead after a Toyota Mini-Bus ran over her at Bariga area of Lagos State. Crime Alert gathered that Oyin, as she was popularly called, met her untimely death on her way back from school.

An eyewitness told Crime Alert that the Toyota Mini-Bus with Reg. No. XA 634 CAL, ran over her from behind and the driver took to his heels when he discovered that she was dead. An eyewitness who identified himself as Charles Obong, said the bus was almost set abalze by angry youths who smashed and destroyed the windscreen.

They were prevented by policemen from Bariga Police Station. Contacted, Lagos State Police Command Spokesman, Samuel Jinadu, said the ill-fated bus is currently in police custody adding that the police is also making efforts to trace the runaway driver.
