LAGOS- National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Lagos, has validated the election of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidate, Mr. Adeola Solomon, who represents Alimosho Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The tribunal dismissed the petition by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Mr. Adewale Segun in the April 9, 2011 poll for failing to prove his petition.

The tribunal held that the petitioners Segun and PDP failed to prove that there were over-voting, non-compliance with Electoral Act as well as the allegation that the respondent was not qualified to contest for the election.

The tribunal resolved the three issues raised by the petitioner in favour of the respondent and dismissed the petition accordingly, awarding a cost of N100,000 each against the petitioner for the two respondents.
