UGHELLI—HOUSE of Assembly candi-date of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Uvwie Local Government Area constituency, Delta State, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has urged the people of the area to remain calm and peaceful.

Ighrakpata, who stated this in a chat with news-men, expressed confidence in the judiciary, alleging that the 2011 House of Assembly election in the area was inconclusive.

He said: “There are documentary evidence and witnesses that the state House of Assembly election, which took place in Uvwie council was inconclusive. Election did not take place in some units. That is why I am calling for a rerun in those areas.

“I went to the election petition tribunal after meeting with the leadership and members of my party in Uvwie. They gave me the go-ahead to file the petition.”
