The Glo Naija Sings stage lit up last Sunday as the Top 5 contestants thrilled the audience with performances of popular Afrobeat hits, bringing back memories of the late Afrobeat legend and creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

But before the performances, Delta state representative, Precious and Enugu ’s Am Ok became the fourth and fifth contestants to be voted out of the Glo Naija Sings stage as the competition became more intense and challenging. This was the first time two contestants will be voted out at the same time for being the contestants with the least number of votes from fans and audiences across Africa.

Before they left the stage, the two contestants thanked Nigerians and fans across the continent for supporting them and expressed gratitude to Glo for giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents. “I enjoyed every moment”, Precious said.

The week’s judges, comprising Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti, scion of the Afrobeat legend; “the elegant stallion”, Onyeka Onwenu and Olisa Adibua were on hand to weigh in with their opinions on the contestants’ performances for the week.

Christian was the first to perform, singing Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s popular hit “Zombie” while wowing the audience with his intricate dance steps. He later sang “Open and Close”, another Fela hit to the delight of the audience.
