Falcons coach Eucharia Uche went philosophical about the final Olympic Games African qualifier, saying that she has her eyes focused on beating Cameroon. She however insisted that prayers would be needed to back efforts that have been put in.
“Of course we have trained well for this game, we have worked hard on building a good team for the tie. However I’m expecting nothing but a win over there and I’m hanging hopes on God’s help as well to make it. As luck would have it we have full complement of players we wanted and invited and we have trained very hard for the match, I know what Nigerians are want from the team and we shall do our best to meet their expectations,” she said.
Asked if she thought a 2-1 scoreline was dangerous to take to the second leg game, the former Falcons hit-leg responded, “ we had a win here and that means a lot to me and I know if things worked as we have planned, 2-1 may actually prove the decider in the end. I believe my players will live up to their rating by winning. We understand the importance of winning an away game has on our game and the entire nation.”
