Ekiti gives scorecard after one year

ADO-EKITI—No fewer than 140,000 indigent people  have benefitted from the free healthcare intervention programmes introduced by  Ekiti State government in the alast 12 months. Also, just as government engaged about 5,000 people on youth corps volunteer in the state.

Deputy Governor,  Mrs Funmilayo  Olayinka  at a briefing  Monday  to mark one year in office of  Kayode Fayemi administration in the state, said the regime recorded success in the area of healthcare intervention through the use of mobile clinic to bring  health facilities  to all the nooks and crannies in the state

Olayinka who is the  Chairman of the anniversary Planning Committee said other healthcare intervention introduced by the state government included free healthcare to the senior  citizens above age 65 years , pregnant women and physically challenged people..

Giving detail of the activities to mark the one year celebration, Olayinka said the programme included Youth Summit, Night of Arts and Culture, Projects’ Commissioning, Economic Summit and the launching of a Book entitled: Long Walk to a new down, which will come simultaneously with a Lecture to be delivered by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Mathew Kukah.

The deputy Governor added that the Agricultural intervention programmes of the government had been receiving accolades from farmers through the provision of farm equipment and inputs to boost agricultural production in the State.
