Edo PDP chief seeks democracy dividends

By Simon Ebegbulem, Benin City

Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy publicity secretary, Bisi Idaomi, says the developmental projects of the Oshiomhole-led administration is not commensurate with funds which accrued to the state both from the federation account and the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Idaomi, who carpeted one Kenneth Amana, for castigating her over her assessment of the Oshiomhole administration, alleged that the people of the state are yet to see any obvious dividends of democracy, saying “what we have noticed is just propaganda and window dressing in some areas”.

According to her, “It is totally mischievous to try to misunderstand my civility towards the government of Oshiomole as an approval of his propaganda form of governance.  Every intelligent human being could easily have known that this government’s so called road projects are full of deceit because none has been completed in the past three years.

“Each time they talk about reducing leakages but we are yet to see what has been done with the funds that accrued as a result of the leakages which they said have been blocked in governance. What are they doing with the IGR which increased drastically?”
