A petroleum products dealer, Mr. Alade Oyediran has been killed by suspected assassins in Ogbomoso.
The man who was said to be from the Osekun royal family of Onipetu Ijeru in Ogbomoso South local government, was reportedly trailed to his residence and killed in the presence of his aged mother and other family members.
Vanguard gathered that the oil dealer was killed on Wednesday after leaving one of his filling stations.
As soon as he left, it was learnt that the attackers trailed him to his house and ordered him to alight from his Toyota Camry car and led him upstairs.
On getting there, the unknown attackers reportedly opened fire on him and inflicted machete cuts on him and were said to have driven away his car said to have contained N5million.
The deceased was killed in his bedroom around 9.30pm and when they rushed him to the hospital, he was confirmed dead having lost much blood.
According to the information gathered, his mother, wife, three children aged 9, 7, and 5 were in the house when he was attacked.
The monarch of the area, Onpetu of Ijeru, Oba Sunday Oyediran, decried the insecurity in the country, saying that apart from the attack on the oil dealer, a supermarket was attacked by robbers.
The Oyo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Moses Onireti, said, “I can confirm that the businessman, Alade Oyediran, was yester night murdered in his house in Ogbomoso. It was a clear case of assassination. Though we have not been able to make any arrest, we are making efforts to track down the culprits.”
