OWERRI—Twenty-one corps members, who served in Imo State, received commendation letters for their excellent performance in community development, while four others had their service year extended for flouting the rules guiding the NYSC scheme.

Imo State Coordinator of National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs. Chinwe Ojukwu, who disclosed this at the passing out ceremony of the 2010 Batch ‘C’ corps members in Owerri, also revealed that 1,274 corps members participated in the exercise.

She expressed unhappiness over what she called “the level of cooperation her establishment is receiving from local council operators in Imo State.”
