Asaba—NO fewer than four cars parked at a mechanic workshop and a furniture workshop were engulfed by a fire in Asaba, weekend. The fire incident occurred along Direct Labour Agency, DLA, Road, Asaba.

Vanguard gathered that the fire, which allegedly started from the furniture workshop spread to a nearby mechanic workshop, where some vehicles brought for repairs were destroyed before men of the state fire-fighting service came to the rescue.

Only few days ago, fire razed the left wing of the Ogbeogonogo Market by Ogbeilo Street, destroying over 10 lock-up shops.

An official of the fire service, who led the rescue team to the scene, appealed to residents to take precautionary measures to avert fire outbreak, particularly as the dry season sets in.
