VVF: 73 patients get free medicare

Bauchi – As part of its effort to give succour to women suffering from Vesico Vaginal Fistula, VVF, a Non-Governmental Organisation, USAID Fistual Care Project, has provided free medical services to 73 patients in Bauchi State.

Deputy Country Director of USAID, Dr Isa Adamu, made this known when he spoke to newsmen, at Ningi General Hospital Repair Centre, pointing out that the project which began since March has received support from the state government, which donated a section of the hospital for the treatment of patients.

Adamu said the organisation had also renovated two other wards and a theatre in the same hospital, so that more VVF patients could benefit from the fistula care services.

According to him, 24 VVF patients were operated in March while 24 others were ‘’repaired’’ in May even as 25 patients will undergo repair before the end of this month.
