The men of Assemblies of God, Ikeja have been told to shine in their community, and also embrace developmental programmes that will benefit them and the society.

The former Men’s Ministries President, Barr. M. O. Ubani made this statement recently at Ikeja while speaking on the General Council Assemblies of God, Nigeria Men’s Ministries theme: “Arise, Glorious Men,” and the topic, “Shine in the Community.”

Ubani said God is asking the men to shine particularly now Nigeria is known for all kinds of evil. “The men are light, and are expected to shine in the darkness around us, and create values that will have far-reaching effects on their families, church, community and larger society.

He spoke in line with the General Council’s programme of men to commemorate the Men Week: 5th – 11th September, 2011.

The desire of the General Superintendent, Rev. Prof. Paul Emeka, Rev. Peter Agianpuye, Men’s President, Charles Madubuike and his executive is that men should arise to their responsibilities by shinning in their businesses, offices, church, community, and also meet the needs of their families.

Rev. Emeka said: “There is power in rising up. Nothing good will come to us if we don’t rise up and go for it.”

Rev. Agianpuye in concert with Ikeja men executive have been prayerfully and working assiduously to prepare the mind of quality men who will rise up to the challenges of glorious men in AG Ikeja church.

Madubuike said that men’s ministries week as an annual event have discovered men of God who are big voices for God, not only that they have impacted their families positively – and men can testify that there are other benefits. He harped on the fact that this year’s men’s week was very unique in all its ramification – which did not just happen – men made it to happen through their sacrifice …hard work, prayers and even organise vigil to ensure the men’s week programmes, activities were splendid and memorable. “The idea is to help nurture quality men who will contribute positively to the church, government, organizations and contribute in building a virile nation,” he concluded.
