As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative that demonstrates its Care and Service to humanity, Samsung Electronics West Africa, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Company, a global leader in consumer electronics and digital convergence technology, today donated latest technological products to orphans and vulnerable children to mark the Samsung Week themed ‘Here For Naija!’ in Lagos.
The donation was aimed at recognising the special place children hold for Samsung Electronics and to inspire them to become great men and women in their lifetime.
Handing over the gift items to Compassionate Orphanage Home in Idowu Egba, Isheri Lagos, officials of Samsung Electronics expressed the company’s commitment towards the care of orphans and vulnerable children in the society. Ready-to-use valuable items donated include flat screen televisions, refrigerator, computers, vacuum cleaners, DVD players, micro wave ovens, mobile phones, cameras and washing machine.
Speaking during the visit, Head, Corporate Marketing, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Donald Etim, said, “Samsung Electronics is a conscientious company with passion to Care and Serve. It is our tradition to give back, to support communities where we operate.
Samsung Electronics West Africa is committed to helping orphans and vulnerable children and the youth to break the cycle of poverty and develop to their full potentials. “. While thanking Samsung Electronics for the gesture, the President, Compassionate Orphanage Home, Dr. Gabriel Oyediji said he was overwhelmed by the pain Samsung has taken to locate his home.
