ENUGU – South East Zonal Working Committee, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, expelled five members of the party in Anambra State for alleged constitutional breaches and anti-party activities.
Those expelled are former secretary of the party in Anambra State, Prince Ken Emeakayi, Mr. Chidi Chidebe, Mr. Chidi Okasia, Mr. Geoffrey Umeanuka, and Chief Okey Nwizugbe.
However, one of the accused persons, Amechi Onowu, was reprimanded by the ZWC, which had earlier suspended him from the party, while two other members are yet to appear before the Disciplinary Committee.
Publicity Secretary of the party in the zone, Mr. Ali Odefa, told newsmen after the ZWC meeting in Enugu that the expulsion order followed the acceptance of the report of the Cletus Akalusi-led Disciplinary Committee which was mandated by the zonal leadership to investigate various allegations levelled against the five members from Anambra State Chapter.
