KADUNA – Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, yesterday, began his battle to keep his seat as he asked the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna to throw out the petition filed against him by the gubernatorial candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Mallam Haruna Sa’eed .
Sa’eed on his part also pleaded with the tribunal to uphold his prayers and declare him winner of the April 2011 election.
Joseph Daudu,SAN, Counsel to Yakowa, represented by Yunus Ustaz Usman,SAN, adopted his written address filed on September 15.
On the issue of criminal allegation which the petitioners raised against Yakowa, Usman said the petitioners themselves had admitted that they had no proof on the issue of corrupt practices, as earlier averred.
Usman defended Yakowa on the allegations that he dumped some documents during the election.
