Governor Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State is to be bestowed with the prestigious Global Peace International award.

Global Peace Movement International is an international Non- Govenrtal Organization, NGO, based in the United Kingdom with branches in 24 other countries.

A statement by President of the  organization, Dr. Mike Uyi, said the decision to honour the governor with the coveted award followed recommendations by a team of international investigators of the organization who visited the state on fact findings stressing that evolving events had shown that Kogi State has remained the most peaceful in the history of the country.  The award comes up comes at the end of September.
