As part of its commitment to promote excellence in education and using expertise to assist Nigerian students in finding the most appropriate university placement in the world,The Global Education Counseling GEC has opened its college Global International College in Victoria Island,Lagos.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the principal of the school, Dr. Ghalib Fahad said that the organization is ready to take Nigerian students to greater heights within the next five years. According to Dr Fahad, Nigerian children are well behaved, very respectful and cultured but lack independent mostly in the area of their academics.
“The need for students independence is key in the academic development of a child,as it affords them the opportunity to research, own means of livelihood, choose their own time tables and able to fund their education before going to study abroad which is one of the reasons we are here to help them,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the vice principal Mrs. Juliet Tom -West reiterated that transforming the children to be matured, confidence and independent is paramount in Global International College adding that it enhances parents the opportunity to learn how to have confidence in their children.
Declaring the event opened, the GEC country director ,Mrs. Josephine Peters said: “All the necessary facilities have been put in place to bring out the best in students as students are expected to show full cooperation and be law abiding.
The event ended with an orientation for the students.
