Edo guber: ACN leaders endorse Oshiomhole

BENIN CITY- As the battle for the 2012 governorship election in Edo State hots up, the leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the state has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Adams Oshiomhole and urged him to make himself available for a second term in office for the  2012 governorship election.

However, his deputy, Dr Pius Odubu, was not lucky as the vote of confidence by the party leaders covered only the governor, who thanked the leaders for their support for his administration.

The meeting held at Government House, was presided over by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi.

Other party leaders at the meeting were the state chairman of the party, Mr. Thomas Okosun, Chairmen of the 18 local governments, the leadership of the state House of Assembly, chairmen of ACN in the  councils of the state and women leaders. The South South Vice- Chairman of ACN, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was absent.

The motion for the vote of confidence passed on the governor was moved by Mr Gentleman Amegor and seconded by two other leaders of the party from the North and Central senatorial districts.

Vanguard learnt that some of those being tipped for the deputy governor position includes Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Charles Idahosa, E.J. Agbonayinma and former House of Representatives member, Patrick Obahiagbon.

The leaders at the meeting commended the governor for making the party proud through his unrelenting efforts in revamping the decayed infrastructure in the state.
