IKEJA – Conference of Alumni Associations of Nigerian Universities, CAANU,  has congratulated Professor John Obafunwa on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, LASU.

It also appealed to workers’ unions in the university, particularly, Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to sheath its sword and call-off its warning strike, while appealing to Federal Government to urgently resolve all areas of differences with the unions.

Chairman-elect of CAANU, Chief Richard Oma-Ahonaruogho, in a statement, yesterday, said: “I have over the past few years know Prof. Obafunwa as a throughbreed professional and followed with keen interest his career path, particularly since his meticulous implementation of the hostel project of Lagos State University College of Medicine, LASUCOM, while he was provost.”
